Keum Boo Disc Pendant Necklace

Fine Silver & 24 carat gold Keum Boo Disc Pendant
 
Disc cut in 999 fine silver, textured in places with my favourite little antique watchmakers hammer and decorated with 24 carat gold using Keum Boo method, then oxidised to darken the silver and highlight and contrast the gold details.
 
The textures have then been polished lightly to give a further contrast.
 
Fitted with a sterling silver snake chain.
 
Keum Boo meaning "attached gold" is an ancient jewellery technique originating in Korea, which is used to attach gold to silver. The bonding of gold and silver is achieved through pressure and heat.
