Silver & 24K Gold Keum Boo Earrings

Fine Silver & 24 carat gold Keum Boo Earrings
 
Discs cut in fine silver, textured in parts and decorated with 24 carat gold using Keum Boo method, then oxidised to darken the silver and highlight and contrast the gold details. The rectangles have been curved and measure 26mm x 6mm approx.
 
The textured section has been polished lightly to give a further contrast.
 
Fitted with 925 sterling silver or gold ear wires.
 
Keum Boo meaning "attached gold" is an ancient jewellery technically originating in Korea, which is used to attach gold to silver. The bonding of gold and silver is achieved through pressure and heat.
