Silver & Gold Barley Twist Earrings long

Handmade Silver & Gold barley twist drop earrings.

Sterling silver wire twisted together with Gold filled wire, soldered together and rolled flat, then cut and shaped before polishing. 

925 sterling silver, Gold filled with 925 Sterling silver ear wires.  Gold filled means a thick layer of real 14K gold, thicker and more durable than plating.

Gold filled is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal - usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight, and is therefore a much thicker and more durable alternative to gold plating.
